Choosing a location for your engagement session can be a bit tricky, so we’ve created this space to help you in the process! Sometimes couples have a meaningful location that they already know they want to use for their engagement session, and that’s incredible! Other times, couples may know the “feel” or scenery they’re envisioning, but they aren’t quite sure of the specific location. That’s where this page comes in. Now you and your partner can scroll through and put a location to that vision.
Where do we start ?
There are a few things you want to keep in mind as you browse through these images. Many of these locations overlap in what they offer, For example, you may be looking for a great field to shoot in, so that’s a great place to start! When you then take a look at the “field” section of this page, you may notice that some of those field locations also offer other options such as great water views, or even architecture. Explore it all and see what you like!
Will our photos look the same?
Also, we encourage you to ask yourself some questions while you’re browsing through. What season were these taken? This will help determine what the trees, flowers, and grass will look like in your own session. A couple of ways to determine this in the images below is to take a look at their wardrobe (fall sweaters, boots, summer dresses, etc.) In the scenery around them you may notice blooming flowers, green grass, fall leaves, or snow. Do you notice that sunset glow? Many of our sessions take place 1-2 hours before sunset, so if it’s a sunny day we can catch that beautiful lighting at the end! Are you comfortable taking photos with some onlookers? This is something to keep in mind if choosing a city location.
A few more things to note …
A few final things to note, some areas do require fees when photographing there, and some locations also have very specific hours that they're open. Areas that are further away from our studio will require a travel fee for the photographer. We’ve tried to note all of that here under the specific location so there are no surprises.
